The site is now up and has been running quite smoothly. Since I built the WordPress theme from scratch (with quite a lot of help from outside sources) it feels good that things are going well. I even have a friend and fellow photographer that asked if he could use my theme on his own website bqrockfoto.fi. He did some changes to the color scheme to match the feel of his photos. Check it out, he really takes smashing good live pictures!
I’ve tried to add one gallery per day and I’ve almost succeeded. To let people know if they’ve been captured in any photos I’ve posted an overview of recent galleries on Facebook and tagged them there.
A feature missing from WordPress is the possibility to render a link list (eg. categories) as a line, not list items. I’ve made a site using Joomla, which had the function built in. It can come in quite handy. It sometimes seems tedious to style a menu list with css in order to create the effect of a single line instead of a list.
There are some hover issues at the moment with my own menu. The ALL link’s hover border-bottom is a few pixels lower than the rest of the menu. I’ve tried to locate the problem, but nothing has come up yet. It probably has something to do with the fact that the rest of the items are <li><a> and the ALL link is simply <a>.
I know the .css-file is sloppy and I should go through all elements and clean it up a bit. All in due time. There are a lot of other things on the schedule right now.
