Here it is – my new photo blog. I’ll try to update it frequently with new photo galleries. My goal is to add one gallery per day until I’ve scrolled through my archive. New photos will of course appear as well.

I’ve already had a lot of problems designing this page. For the record: browser compatibility is a pain in the ass. I’ll try to work on it, but it’s always so tedious. At the moment it works best in Safari 4.0.4 (running on a Macbook/OS X 10.4).

An active issue for the site is font smoothing differences. I’ve used an embedded font, PT Sans Narrow, throughout the page. The font is loaded in all browsers I’ve tested but the font-weight is different in Firefox (at least on Mac). Let the screen shots speak for themselves:

Is this just a font rendering issue in Firefox due to the font embedding? I know a more legible font like Verdana, Times New Roman etc. could be used, but I felt like going with PT Sans Narrow on this one. Let’s hope a solution is found. I myself will go on to viewing and updating the page in Safari for the best visual experience.

The problem seems to have gone away, which is odd! Here’s a screen shot of Safari and Firefox. No updates have been made to either browser. Maybe my computer just had a bad day.
